Student Opportunities Manager
£32,629 per annum
35 hours per week
Cross campus (Cambridge and Chelmsford)
At ARU Students’ Union, the Student Opportunities team play an essential role in enriching student experiences. From planning and delivering large scale events, to establishing and supporting societies, to identifying and brokering volunteering opportunities for the student community, the team play a vital part in each and every student’s experience during their time at ARU.
As the Student Opportunities Manager, you will strategically lead the Student Opportunities team and their impact on the wider student experience, working collaboratively with University departments and partner organisations, as well as a coaching a member of our team of sabbatical Officers.
What you'll be doing
- Leading projects for large scale events
- Supporting the Executive Officer team to deliver activities, events and campaigns
- Managing event budgets and risks
- Sourcing external funding
- Developing volunteering opportunities
- Supporting and managing the Student Opportunities team
What we're looking for
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience assessing risk
- Confidence in leading projects

- Patience, enthusiasm and ability to motivate others
Where will you be working
This is a cross campus role; your home campus can be either Cambridge or Chelmsford. You will be required to visit the other campus regularly, as required.

ARU Students’ Union represents students at ARU across campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Peterborough and London. In addition, we provide a range of services; academic and welfare advice, support to students running societies and volunteering opportunities in and around the campuses.
