Cambridge is one of the best student cities in the UK.

It's full of top live music venues and theatre, great food, shopping and amazing architecture. There's something here for everyone.

The campus is in the very heart of the city centre. It's close to shops, bars, restaurants, green open spaces and the trendy café and independent shopping area, Mill Road.

The Union offers a wide range of daytime and evening events, numerous societies to join, a free and confidential Advice Service, and plenty more opportunities to get involved.

The Cambridge campus is home to the SU Shop, in the Helmore Building. Selling your everyday essentials from sandwiches to snacks through to art supplies and ARU clothing including hoodies, t-shirts and more.

EXPLORE YOUR CITY

Home to two Universities, Cambridge is a hotbed of history, architecture and culture. From taking a punt on the River Cam, to cycling down cobbled streets, there are so many ways to explore the city. Embrace the hustle and bustle of city life, and make the most of your time living in this beautiful place.

When it comes to things to see and do in Cambridge, you will have a pretty long list. Cambridge has so many museums to visit that you simply won't be able to fit them all into one day. When it comes to parks, you are spoilt for choice. Just a five minute walk from campus is Parker's Piece, an open space used by locals to relax, play sports and catch up with friends. Further afield you have Jesus Green which overlooks the stunning Jesus College. For more places to visit, check out the Visit Cambridge website.

Whether you're a foodie, an art enthusiast, music fan, or science devotee, Cambridge has something for you. Home to three theatres, two large music venues and five cinemas, culture is definitely a part of Cambridge life. Local football team Cambridge United play their home matches just twenty minutes from campus at the Abbey Stadium. Student tickets start from just £15 a match.

Cambridge may be famous for tradition and culture, but the varied selection of bars, clubs and pubs are just as impressive. From quirky cocktail bars to wild student nights, Cambridge has something for everyone. For student nights, look no further than Revolution, Lola Lo's, MASH and Vinyl. If you're looking for live music, then you're spoiled for choice. It's home to large venues like the Corn Exchange and The Junction to smaller venues like The SixSix bar.

Cambridge really does offer a diverse shopping experience. There are two main shopping centres. Just five minutes from campus, and home to high-street shops and a Vue cinema is The Grafton. A little further into the city, and home to John Lewis, Apple, Skechers and more is Grand Arcade. Remember to use your TOTUM card to access some fantastic student discounts!

The city centre is home to a bustling market, located in Market Hill.

From well known high-street brands to local independents, there is something to quench everyone's thirst. If you're looking for fun and exciting why not try The Tivoli or The SixSix Bar. If you love your coffee then try 5 Blends or Mill Mediterranean Coffee Spot. Looking for a traditional British pub on your doorstep? Then The Alex, Prince Regent or The Free Press is for you. If you're a keen sports fan then the The Cambridge Tap or The Alma might be what you're looking for.

Cambridge is home to a whole range of cafes, restaurants and more. From fine dining to street food, from Mexican to Indian, the city has something for every taste. Many food outlets offer student discount with the latest deals on Unidays, Student Beans & TOTUM.

Our friendly, bustling campus is a stone’s throw from the centre of Cambridge

Often described as the perfect student city, we've been here since 1858 when Cambridge School of Art first opened its doors. The art school grew to become Anglia Ruskin University and it's still at the heart of our modern-day campus on East Road.

Just around the corner from campus, there's our dedicated healthcare site on Young Street, which houses state-of-the-art clinical skills labs including mock hospital wards, and a child nursing and midwifery ward.

Our Cambridge campus has a personality all of its own. We have more than 10,000 students here on a mix of undergraduate and postgraduate, full-time and part-time courses. About a quarter of our students come from outside the UK. It makes for a great mix of people.
