Anglia Ruskin Raiders Cheerleading is the Cambridge campus' back to back national champion cheerleading team!

Our level 2 competitive team takes part in three competitions around the country against other university teams. We are super proud of the titles that we have worked extremely hard to achieve, which most recently includes achieving 1st place at Legacy Alpha and Omega as well as at Future Cheer and hitting 0 in 2026. Last year we also placed 2nd at Future Cheer and 3rd at BCA. Our level 2 team trains twice a week, once at uni and another at a gym local to us called Vogue Athletics where we get trained at by a coach on a gym floor. Our co-captains this year are Charlotte and Sofia and they can’t wait to meet you. 

Our Varisty team last year was new and we’re brining it back again this year! This team is less commitment and does not compete, amazing if you want a taster of cheerleading. Last year we supported American football and basketball at their games by cheering them on at the sidelines and performing during half time. This year we will continue to support teams at ARU as well as organising joint socials!

In 2021 we returned with a brand new Cheer team after COVID and smashed it at Comp while creating a Raiders family and have been steadily improving every year since.

The past few years have been testimony of our hard work and dedication. Intense training and wild nights out are evidence to our team ethos "cheer hard - play hard!"

The Raider's team is not all hard work and no play; our Social Captains Tia and Tina will host regular social events both day and night where we meet for an event to help us bond as a family more. We collaborate with all the raider teams together (competitive, stunt, social, and dance) and we also collaborate with the other teams in the university too!

We also have a chance at the end of the University year to compete against other universities in the challenge cup!

Ruskin Raiders also support charity fundraising around the University with cake sales and other events. Come along to a taster session to find out more or look out for tryout dates that will be hosted in September!
