The Union at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is delighted to announce the launch of its brand-new visual identity and bold five-year strategy ahead of the 2025–26 academic year.
The new brand includes a refreshed logo, a vibrant new colour palette, and a clear brand promise - all designed to better reflect the diversity, energy, and ambition of ARU students. It represents the Union’s commitment to recognising the unique brilliance of each campus while strengthening its unified presence across the university.
Why the change now?
The rebrand follows months of consultation with students, staff, and alumni to ensure the Union’s look, feel, and messaging align with the needs of a modern, student-led organisation. The last major refresh was over a decade ago, and the new identity marks a shift towards a more digital-first, inclusive, and future-focused Union.

The new strategy is centred on three key priorities:
- Putting Students in Charge
- Extending Students’ Rights and Opportunities
- Building and Nurturing Communities
Rohan Rajesh, Union President, said:
“This marks an exciting new chapter for the Students’ Union – one that reflects who we are today and where we’re headed. It’s bold, fresh, and rooted in our commitment to being a truly student-led Union, representing and empowering every student.”
The first stage of the rollout launches today with an updated website look. A fully redesigned site, featuring improved navigation and usability, will go live at the end of September. The new branding will also appear across Union buildings in the coming weeks.
Union Chief Executive, John Valerkou, added:
“I can’t wait to see our new brand out in the world – reaching every student, on every campus, in every corner of our community. This year is going to be huge. We’ve got an incredible line-up of events, opportunities, and moments that matter, and our new brand is here to make sure our message is loud, clear, and impossible to miss.”
