Course Rep

Course Reps are the voice of their course. They gather feedback from fellow students and work with academic staff through formal and informal meetings to improve the course experience. It's one of the most direct ways a student can shape teaching, assessment, and the wider course environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as a point of contact between students on the course and academic staff
• Collect feedback from peers throughout the term, using methods such as informal conversations, emails, or short surveys.
• Engage in meetings each term, raising issues and reporting back outcomes.
• Feedback to students on what's been discussed with staff and what's changed as a result.
• Escalate urgent or significant issues to the School Rep, education officer or Rep co-ordinator, where needed.
• Take part in Rep training and any relevant rep network or development sessions.
• Behaving in accordance with the articles of the Union and the Equal Opportunities Policy.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Currently enrolled on the course you'd be representing
• Good listening, organisational, and communication skills.
• Comfortable raising issues constructively in a meeting setting
• No prior experience needed as full training and ongoing support is provided

School Rep

School Reps sit above Course Reps in the rep structure, representing the collective student voice across an entire school. They support the Course Reps within their school, escalate cross-course or systemic issues, and represent students at School-level meetings and committees. It's a step up for students who want broader influence over their academic experience and some light leadership responsibility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as the main point of contact between Course Reps in the school and the wider rep structure
• Support, guide, and check in regularly with Course Reps.
• Attend and contribute to School-level curriculum revision meetings representing the student voice in these discussions.
• Engage with the Campus and education Officer to share larger issues and support their campaigns.
• Attend Rep training, the Rep network, and any relevant development sessions.
• Behave in accordance with the articles of the Union and the Equal Opportunities Policy.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Currently enrolled on a course within the school you'd be representing
• Confident communicating with both students and academic/professional staff
• Able to identify patterns across feedback from multiple courses
• Comfortable representing others' views constructively in a committee setting
• Organised, reliable, and able to support and motivate other reps
• Full training and ongoing support is provided

Society Committee Member

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning and organising events, socials, or activities for members.
• Managing budgets, sponsorship, or fundraising where relevant.
• Communicating with members via email, social media, or newsletters.
• Encouraging new members and growing your community.
• Working with the Students' Union and staying informed via newsletters and other channels.
