Thank you to all of our reps who attended the Tri 2 Course Feedback Forums and presented their feedback! We held 6 forums between 25/03/26 - 05/03/26 that were seperated by faculty, below are the key themes from each meeting:
EAE (Construction, Surveying, Engineering, Biomedical Sciences):
Students are happy with interactive teaching and supportive lecturers.
Areas for improvement:
- Clearer assignment briefs.
- Uploading lecture materials in a timely manner.
- Wanting more guest speakers.
- Dislike assignment bunching would like to spread the deadlines out more.
IHESC (Primary Ed, Social Work, Integrated health and social care, Public Health):
Overall, students are happy with very knowledgeable and supportive lecturers.
Areas for improvement:
- More consistency is needed with assignment briefs.
- Would like more emphasis on practical learning over theory.
- Would like more flexibility with teaching e.g. recorded lectures.
- Would like better feedback on assignments.
Degree Apprenticeships (DigiTech, Construction, Surveying, Engineering, Environmental Managemnt, Supply Chain Management):
Students are generally happy with the content and delivery of their lectures. Staff are always approachable and happy to help.
Areas for improvement:
- Some clarity and consistency needed with teaching methods.
- Wanting staff to provide clear and consistent assignment briefs.
- Dislike of assignment bunching and wanting deadlines to be spread out more.
- Students arriving late to class which delays teaching.
- Wanting more site visits/ guest lecturers.
NURMID (Nursing and Midwifery incluiding Degree Apprentice Nurses and Midwives):
Students really enjoy the lectures and revision sessions. Timetabling has improved a lot and students are happy about this. Appreciation for supportive lecturers and guest speakers.
Areas for improvement:
- Major assignments are too close together which can be a heavy workload during placements.
- More skills lab sessions would be appreciated.
- Clearer more detailed marks requested after OSCEs and all assignments.
- More engagement requested from placement teams and university staff.
- Greater flexibility would be appreciated due to childcare, travel and placement schedules.
BIE (Accounting, Business and Management, Events Management, Law, Supply Chain Management, International Business Management, Healthcare Leadership):
Students are happy with their teaching in general and with engagement from lecturers.
Areas for improvement:
- Some issues with canvas to be resolved.
- Wanting better and more detailed assignment feedback.
- Would like assignment deadlines to be spread out more.
- Some staffing changes have affected students.
CDAS (Computing, Mobile Game Design, Cyber Security, Business Data Analytics):
Students are happy with teaching and support received from lecturers. 1:1 support has also been appreciated.
Areas for improvement:
- Having too many assignments due too close together.
- Wanting equipment to be tested before lecturers to avoid wasting time during class.
- Need for clearer module expectations, timelines and assignment briefs.
- Greater consistency in communication, organisation and academic support.
