The EAST Conference will be a collaborative student-led conference organised by the Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Societies at Anglia Ruskin University, the University of East Anglia and the University of Cambridge, with ARU hosting the conference this year. The conference will bring together medical students from across the three universities for a full day focused on anaesthetics, intensive care, perioperative medicine and related areas of acute care. The programme will include a combination of talks from clinicians and other professionals, interactive teaching, practical workshops and opportunities for students to learn more about careers and training within anaesthesia and intensive care. The event will also provide opportunities for students from the three medical schools to meet and network with one another, engage with clinicians working within these specialties, and gain exposure to areas of medicine that students may have limited opportunity to experience during the undergraduate curriculum. The exact programme, speakers and individual sessions are currently being developed collaboratively between the three participating societies. The conference is intended to be accessible to students across all years of medical school, regardless of their previous experience in anaesthetics or intensive care. This is the conferences 3rd year of being run, and it is Anglia Ruskin universities turn to host.
