Interested in anaesthesia or simply curious about what the specialty has to offer?

Join the ARU Anaesthetics & Intensive Care Society for “So You Want to Become an Anaesthetist?”, an interactive careers talk with Dr Zachary Millar, Core Anaesthetics Trainee (CT2).

Dr Millar will share his journey from medical school into anaesthetic training, giving an insight into what life as an anaesthetist is really like and what attracted him to the specialty. The session will explore the anaesthetic training pathway, life as a trainee, the variety of opportunities available within the specialty, and some of the experiences and lessons he has gained along the way.

We’ll also discuss how medical students can begin exploring anaesthesia now, including opportunities to gain experience, get involved in research, attend events and make the most of medical school — without feeling like you need to have your entire career planned already.

The session will finish with an open Q&A, giving you the opportunity to ask questions about anaesthesia, training, medical school and pursuing the specialty.
