Medics on the Mountain is a collaborative charity weekend organised by the ARU Anaesthetics & Intensive Care Society and Emergency Medicine Society, bringing medical students together for a weekend of pre-hospital medicine, camping and hiking while raising money for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT).

Students will travel to Eryri on Saturday and set up camp for the night before taking part in an afternoon teaching session focused on HEMS and pre-hospital medicine, providing an opportunity to explore how emergency care is delivered outside of the hospital environment.

Following a night of camping, the group will set out on Sunday morning to complete a charity hike of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), raising money for EHAAT through individual and group sponsorship.

Students from Cambridge and UEA may also join the weekend, creating an opportunity for medical students from across the region to meet and collaborate outside of the traditional university setting.

The event aims to combine medical education, outdoor adventure, inter-university collaboration and charitable fundraising in what we hope will become an annual medical student charity hiking event.

The planned Yr Wyddfa summit hike will be subject to appropriate weather and ground conditions, with an alternative route used if conditions are unsuitable.
