KIRSTY MCKENZIE

My name is Kirsty, and I am standing for the role of Cambridge Officer because I believe students deserve strong, reliable, and experienced representation.

I currently serve as a Course Representative and School Representative for the School of Humanities and Social Science, roles that have given me first-hand insight into the issues students face across courses and year groups. I don’t just listen to concerns, I act on them.

During my time as a representative, I helped design training for course reps to make it clearer, more practical, and genuinely useful. I also set up student forums to create open spaces where students can share concerns, ideas, and feedback directly, ensuring voices are heard beyond formal meetings.

Dedication matters in representation. I have attended every meeting, consistently engaging with staff and students to make sure issues are followed up and not forgotten. This commitment has allowed me to build strong working relationships with both students and university staff, helping turn discussion into real outcomes.

As Cambridge Officer, I will:

  • Amplify student voices by strengthening communication between students, reps, and the Students’ Union
  • Support and empower reps, ensuring they feel confident, informed, and valued
  • Advocate for fairness and inclusivity, making sure all students feel represented, regardless of background or course
  • Hold the university accountable, pushing for meaningful action on student feedback

I am organised, approachable, and committed to making change happen. If elected as Cambridge Officer, I will bring experience, consistency, and a genuine passion for improving the student experience at ARU.
