GEETHESH VIJAYAHARAN

Hi, I'm Geethesh Vijayaharan! I am a 2nd year Biomedical Science student running for Peterborough Officer, as I believe the campus needs consistency, clarity and real action. Students put their time, effort and money into their education so I feel the experience should reflect that investment not only educationally, but also practically and personally too.

My priorities to focus on are:

  • Academic Consistency
    • Clearer and consistent feedback standards
    • Lecture materials are to be uploaded on time
    • Increased communication with Personal Development Tutors (PDTs)
    • Escalating ongoing timetabling issues

  • Campus Experience
    • Pushing more trial improvements in healthier options regarding the cafeteria
    • Ensuring transparency between catering services and students
    • Better use of campus spaces during peak revision times

  • Travel and Safety
    • Continued pressure on road crossing safety
    • Improved lighting in parking areas
    • Clearer parking guidance
    • Ongoing focus on transport affordability

  • Wellbeing Visibility
    • Stronger promotion of the wellbeing services the university offers
    • Visible reminders during high-pressure times
    • Clearer access so help can be found early

Why me?

I bring strong communication and follow-through skills. As ARU for Global Health's Vice President and one of ARU Peterborough's Biomedical Science Society's Social Media Officers, I have not only worked within university systems, but also learnt how to raise concerns professionally and helped turn discussion into action.

I believe in steady progress, so my approach therefore aims to be practical and structured: grounded in evidence, driven by consistency, focused on professional and constructive action - and bolstered through clear and regular updates rather than silence. Meaningful change happens when concerns are properly tracked, followed through and kept visible, which makes sure that progress is more accountable and genuinely effective.

What can you expect?

If elected, I will:

  • Communicate clear and frequent updates
  • Be honest about what can be achieved in a year
  • Keep long-term issues on the agenda
  • Represent the student community at Peterborough calmly, firmly and consistently

Peterborough deserves raised expectations - and leadership that delivers progress without overpromising.

Thank you for reading my manifesto, I would be proud to represent you.
