VOTE JOSEPHINE MUTESI BARNES
My name is Josephine Mutesi Barnes, and I am standing to be your next Peterborough Campus Officer because student representation must lead to real, measurable outcomes.
Students invest significant time, effort, and financial commitment into their education. In return, we deserve high-quality teaching, clear academic guidance, and meaningful support that genuinely prepares us for our futures. Through my experience as a course rep and student, I have seen that student feedback does not always translate into visible change. That must improve.
If elected, I will:
Ensure Peterborough students' voices are clearly heard and acted upon in all Union decisions.
Advocate for high-quality teaching, academic guidance, and meaningful support.
Create structured opportunities for students to give feedback and engage with the Union.
I have experience in leadership and academic environments, including serving as a school prefect in Year 11, completing legal work experience at JLL, volunteering at Citizens Advice, and currently acting as a course rep at university. These experiences have developed my skills in communication, organisation, teamwork, and advocacy, all of which equip me to represent students confidently, push for real outcomes, and engage constructively with staff and the Union.
I am approachable, prepared, and committed to ensuring Peterborough students are represented effectively. I will listen carefully, raise concerns decisively, and work to make the Union a genuine force for student voice and action.
Vote Josephine, don’t delay, strong representation every day!
