Good afternoon everyone,
My name is Nihal Thangallapally, and I am running to be your next President at ARU Cambridge.
We all came to university with ambition — to grow, to succeed, and to build our future. But ambition needs support. It needs representation. It needs leadership that listens and delivers.
If elected, I will focus on three things:
First: Academic Excellence. Clearer feedback, stronger communication between students and faculty, and real student representation in decision-making rooms.
Second: Wellbeing & Community. University should challenge you, not overwhelm you. I will push for better awareness of support services, more inclusive events, and a campus where every student feels seen.
Third: Career Readiness. We study for our future. I will work to strengthen connections with Cambridge industries, expand employability workshops, and ensure every student knows their opportunities.
Leadership is not about making noise.
It’s about making progress.
